Microsoft and TracFone will work with Health Choice Network (HCN), which is a Miami-based company, manages and connects a network of community health centers, having more than 760,000 patients in 17 states. HCN is one of the best companies, providing smartphones to diabetes patients that help them to manage their health better.
This latest solution offered on Windows Phone and feature Microsoft’s familiar suite of services and solutions such as Microsoft HealthVault, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Office 365, and a variety of smartphone applications. An enterprise-grade security and privacy features are combined to deliver security-enhanced, HIPAA-enabled email and messaging communications to patients about their health and regimens.
Patients will also get appointment reminders with calendar functionality and remote device management with standardized Windows Phone. Lee Stevens, director of Health Information Exchange Policy and Interoperability, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said, “Putting existing technologies to use for today’s patients will help improve healthcare, coordination and outcomes, as well as better manage costs.”

Those patients, who are participating in the HCN pilot, will get a Windows Phone with TracFone’s prepaid services for improving their engagement and manage their disease. A customer application will be developed by HCN that helps to provide consent, deliver and receive reminders, ensure treatment plan understanding, and aid in disease self-tracking for blood sugar levels and other vital health information. Different types of applications can also be accessed by patients that particularly for diabetes care, and other mobile devices connected to HealthVault, ensures you to record the personal health from any devices you want to.
